November Brings New Creative Workshops to HAEC

Huntington, IN. October 26, 2022

The Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center hosts several workshops throughout the month of November. The mission of HAEC is to create inclusive, creative opportunities for residents and visitors of Huntington County. November’s lineup is sure to please.

Framed Biology with Julie Wall – uses insect specimens, stamps, markers, and other embellishments to create a unique display. All materials are provided. Materials include a high-quality frame with matting and insect specimens of your choice. November 9th

Pumpkin Sculpture with Holly Dowidat – works with slab-rolled clay to sculpt and texturize ceramic pumpkins. Holly will teach participants all about clay and sculpture techniques. Various glazes and stains have been selected to colorize and finish the works created. November 10th & 11th

Organic Cloche Dome with Julie Wall – uses insect specimens, organic materials, and other embellishments to create a whimsical environment. All materials are provided. Materials will a small cloche dome, insect specimens, and other decorative materials. Participants will assemble materials to create an attractive display. November 18th

Thanksgiving from Scratch with Chef Jason Winterfeld – explores culinary techniques while cooking delicious holiday sides. Wow, your family with a dish made entirely from basic ingredients this year. Participants will learn about homemade yeast rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. All ingredients and culinary instruments will be provided. November 19th

In addition, to this incredible workshop lineup, HAEC will participate in Christmas in the City on November 26th. Visit the Arts Included Gallery to experience Story-time with guest readers. Holiday-themed photo opportunities will be available throughout the Gallery. Santa’s elves will also be in the studio workshop for a kid’s clay ornament craft.

Thanksgiving from Scratch Culinary Workshop

Register for this 2-hour workshop with Chef Jason Winterfeld of JB’s Cuisine Machine. Jason will teach participants culinary technique while cooking up some delicious holiday sides. Wow your family this year with a dish made entirely from basic ingredients.

Participants will learn about homemade yeast rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and sweet potatoes. All ingredients and culinary instruments will be provided. After everyone makes their dishes at the Culinary Kitchen at HAEC, take time to mingle and taste your creations in the Arts Included Gallery.
