In this class, you will learn to make a versatile Bannock bread that can be prepared traditionally in an oven, in a skillet, or even on a stick over a fire. Robin McBride Scott is an award-winning artist and educator who works in traditional and contemporary Eastern Woodland and Southeastern Woodland Native American art forms. She has been an Artist-in-Residence for the Eiteljorg Museum of the American Indian and Western Art in Indianapolis. Focusing on the fundamentals of throwing, you will learn the step-by-step procedures of creating functional wares like bowls, mugs, and other pieces.

About Jason: Chef Jason Winterfeld has 20 years of experience in the culinary field. Before starting his own business, Jason specialized in fine dining. He served as Executive Chef of The Twenty at The Charley Creek Inn in Wabash, Indiana. Beginning his career as a banquet chef at North Star in Huntington, Jason continued to elevate his skills. He later moved on to work for Orchard Ridge Country Club and Landmark Banquet Center in Fort Wayne. The JB’s Cuisine Machine team has worked out of the HAEC Culinary Kitchen for catering and food truck business. Jason is happy to use the teaching space to skill share with the community. He dedicates himself to preparing food from the best ingredients. Offering culinary opportunities to people in his hometown is a new and exciting venture.

Write an Artist Statement Workshop

Katy serves as Director of Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center and has been working professionally in the art field since 2007. Like many other creatives, Katy has practiced and enjoyed art from a very young age and considered herself an artist long before receiving a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Today she invests time into developing and helping artists find opportunities in the creative world. In 2021 Katy was trained to instruct the Indiana Arts Commission’s “On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Course” that was held as a satellite program for the state at HAEC and several other sites in Indiana. This opportunity provided professional growth and led to an interest in holding smaller arts business workshops at HAEC. Katy has previously held many creative workshops and continues volunteering and organizing public art events.
