Working with instructor Jodi Krumel, students will be exploring the basics of the ceramic making process alongside the literary art of telling stories. Students will learn to use their personal narratives and life experiences as inspiration for the clay pages of their own book. The books will be held together with binder rings, this will make the binding of the book adjustable for the addition of more pages as the student adapts and grows through their lives.

This class fully incorporates craft and literature in a unique, fun, and hands-on way. Students will become acquainted with the structure of books and story as one unit. Editing and adaptation of form within story writing will aid in the student’s development of voice, tone, and vocabulary. Play is at the center of this class, using their hands and minds as catalysts to put thought into form!
